From your post number, I can see that you are newbie. So I will explain from the start:
1. "Best character" is pretty subjective. Some may like rogue, other prefer warriors or wizards.
2. If you have NWN & its expasions in one package, then the levels to play is roughly 40. It means that most people will use multiclasses. And the first character in a multiclass isn't necessarily the main character.
I have tried many multiclasses ( around 24 ) and I like most of them. I can tell you the one I am playing which I also like:
fighter/cleric/champion of Torm
I started with a fighter about 4-5 levels to get all the good feats needed for a warrior( weapon focus, weapon specialization, cleave, great cleave ...) then switch to cleric and Torm. Between the later two, they share 36 levels which should be enough.

With games such as NwN, and very similar ones where you may choose from a variety of character builds - it's helpful to keep in mind that there is no "Best Character" because they all have a flaw. & I know you didn't say "Perfect Character" but in that sense it's just best to keep an open mind. There are however powerbuilds which have alotta "woopass" to them, then in that case IMO, I generally lean more towards Thief/Mage tanks. I find them to be the most well rounded characters for different occasions. Ofcourse others have different opinions.. but when I plan before playing, I dont like to come out short handed and end up having to bash open every barrel or chest I come across. As for the Strategy Build, Im afraid I cant help much there But by now, there's plenty of 'em OR you could find what suites you better (experiment w/ the game)James-the-Great wrote:Which is the Best Character if you wish to make your own Character in Character Development, Classes; Races; Skills; Ability Scores; Alignments; Backgrounds and Deities.

''White light beams through darkness, beset by immense haze over a few seconds followed by a loud cacophony. Motionless, the repercussion of your action strikes your feebled mind and senses. Still dazed, the intensity lingers that follows after tripping over your own sonic blind trap.''
