Bowling for Dollars

Post by Borodin »

Is there some merchant with enough cash to buy some of these weapons I'm accumulating. Most of the ones I've encountered only have a couple hundred.
How am I supposed to get enough cash for the car, etc...????

You shouldnt worry about the car early on, you'll eventually get the money. And if ever you get the car early, you wont be finding power cells to run it.
But I think the merchants restock every week or smt - days maybe, so if you wait enough you can get more money from them. You can always run through the wasteland and get random encounters as well.

Aim to buy things and trade for ammo rather than cash in my opinion. Mind you the merchants in San Francisco are usually loaded with cash.

Is your character above 18? If no, forget about car ^^

Why? I usually get the car quite soon after I enter The Den the very first time. Of course, I need to make a small trip to get the parts, but it's accessable more or less at the beginning of the game. Few quests and selling a bit loot and you have the money for the car, unless you spend it to something you don't really need.

And merchants restock every 2-4 days, depending on merchant. Usually it's three days, and that applies to merchants of San Francisco, who have the most money as far as I remember.

For example, The Den has two merchants (can't remember if the Mom actually trades), Klamath has one merchant, And other cities usually have two or more merchants. So if one merchant doesn't have enough money to buy all your items, either us ammos and stimpaks to even the ammount or spread the loot to several traders.

I meant the drivers licence. But it's just my twisted way of thinking, don't bother ^^

No problemos, after re-reading what you wrote I noticed that you didn't mention levels at any point, and I though you meant levels. Good lesson not to post after 30 hour period of not sleeping... :D
