What's your strength? Excessive strength can have that effect, the harder you hit the quicker the weapon breaks. It is possible to be so strong your weapons break after just a few hits.

You should be able to easily determine how strong your character is. Just check its stats, and tell us the results.

Then that's it. If you don't exploit glitches in the game it will run perfectly fine.

LOL! No offense, but put it in realworld terms, Uriel: think of the difference between an elderly invalid wielding a broadsword--if he or she could even pick it up--and what would happen if some comic book superhero gifted with worldcrushing strength would do to the same ordinary weapon if they tried using it. It's a wonder the thing didn't shear off in half when your character used it. :)

If you're unaware of them, you can always reset your stats using console commands. This has a pretty decent list. Enjoy.

simple - don't cheat so excessively. Seriously, when will you need that much STR? If your worried about cash then use a money cheat, not a +4000 STR cheat.

Either summon or find a Greater Bonewalker, and let them hit you repeatedly before you kill them. Their attack drains strength. Get enough of them doing this successively, and it could help--but really, when it's up in the thousands, that might take some time. Downside of playing a munchkin. ;)

Actually i have the perfect weapon for you if you get you're strength higher go to mourn hold (if you have the expansion tribunal) and go into the museum and go upstairs and wield the giant hammer... I think its called Stenddars hammer:

it does like 100 damage with out any other damages added.. which is allot for most weapons

not that I encourage cheating but the weight on that thing is like 2500

Stendarr's Hammer is extremely fragile compared to most artifact weapons; with the original poster's strength so high, sure, he'd be able to wield it easily, but he'll probably break it each time it's used in an attack.

The most durable weapons in the game are all Blunt: Mace of Aevar Stone-Singer, Stalhrim Mace, Skull Crusher, Veloth's Judgement, and the Daedric Warhammer. Another viable choice (until he gets the superstrength fixed) would be to use Bound weapons, which can be resummoned as an alternative to repairing them.
