Level needed for best possible Sigil Stones?

Post by silverdragon72 »

...as Sigil Stones are the best option to enchant armor, which level is needed to get the best possible Sigil Stones?

...as you get a maximum of 16 Sigil Stones, I would go for the last gates with this Level!

...until now I have found Sigil stones that e.g. give fortify magicka 30 and 50, what's the best possible?

...another point on this issue, but I guess this is already known:

if you save just before taking the Sigil Stone, you can reload and get another, if you don't like the abilities!

...To be safe: 20 (I think it's 18, but it's better on the safe, higher side)

...What do you mean by 16? Kind or quantity?

...That's the best possible in it's class (the 50 one of course)

...That has already been bumped by many players (including me :D )

...if you cant' get at level 50 a Sigil Stone with a better effect then e.g. "fortify magicka 50" or "Shock Shield 25%" - then even L15 should be just good enough!

...hmmm...-...just irritated as even with L19, I always get only the 2nd or 3rd best version of levelled items!

16 - AFAIK there should be 16 Oblivion Gates and therefore 16 Sigil Stones!

Levelled items get better when you level up, so it is better to be on a higher level when searching for them

16??? Then why did I have 58??
Spoiler
Go deeper in the MQ, and more gates should open

I somehow found the message that there should be 16 deadra princess and each has it's own oblivion level / gate!

You closed 58 Oblivion gates?!!! Are they endless?!

...only problem with the levelled items is, that you don't finish most of the quests with L40, and some of the best items are levelled!

The only ones that provide Sigil Stones are those of Mehrunes Dagon's

No, they're not endless, I have roamed the world (of Tamriel) to find more, but what I found are only their charred remains

And worst, some levelled items are wrongly levelled!

...hmmm...-...there are Oblivion Gates without Sigil Stones?

...how do you close them?!

...and how many Gates are there, if you already have 58 Sigil Stones?!!!

...wrong levelled levelled items?! - Sounds bad, already was surprised, that Oblivion seems to be more or less bug-free - at least in the latest version...

...so do I find the 2nd/3rd best version cause my L19 is to low or the items are bugged?

...is it known at which level you should get the best version?

No

Infinite number, they keep spawning, and even respawning until the final encounter. Once that happens there are no more Gates.

Sigil stones increase at the following levels: 5,9,13,17

If you have a pc then I thoroughly recommend the Quest Award Leveling mod by Nmaegduf, which you can find here. It upgrades any reward items, including Sigil Stones, from the original game when you reach the appropriate level. This only works until you actually use the Sigil Stone, once you've enchanted something with one its level is set.

Some items are indeed given the wrong power at some levels. For example there are three types of Sigil Stones which grant shock damage, one that alternatively grants night eye, one that also grants shock shield and one that also gives resist shock as an alternative. Each type should start off with 5 shock damage, then increment by 5 at each progression until the max of 25 is reached. However the one that also does resist shock starts at 15 then goes up to 20, then back to 15, 20, 25. The Shock shield effect should go 10,13,15,18,25, but intead goes 10,13,25,18,25. Note that both these errors actually benefit the player.

Final note, there are 30 different types of Sigil Stones available, a few (Chameleon for example) are extremely powerful, many verge on completely useless.

There are Oblivion Realm without Sigil Stones. Ex: Can you close Peryite's Oblivion Realm???
silverdragon72 wrote:...and how many Gates are there, if you already have 58 Sigil Stones?!!!
There are finite number of Dagon's Oblivion Gates.
Just found in the encyclopedia that there are exactly 60 Gates. Their spawn point is random, and they don't respawn. After you close 60, no more will appear. And you can close all that before the final encounter
Spoiler
(with Dagon)

(Oh no, I missed two Gates!!! :( )
silverdragon72 wrote:...wrong levelled levelled items?! - Sounds bad
Some are good for players, but the others are bad. Ex: two FG rewards
silverdragon72 wrote:Oblivion seems to be more or less bug-free - at least in the latest version...
You should try doing TG quest with much haste
silverdragon72 wrote:...so do I find the 2nd/3rd best version cause my L19 is to low or the items are bugged?
What do you get (the enchantment)?

Of what?

...if there are diffferent - how do you see which oblivion realm you just have entered?

60 Gates to close - that sounds much work! Are they all that large like the first ones?

TG quest - which one is this?

does each levelled item have individual levels - or is there a more or less general level when you almost ever get the best version?

think I will try the Quest Award Leveling mod - seems to make sense - completly bug-free and compatible to all language versions?

...In the Main Quest and exploration, you can only enter the Realm of Mehrunes Dagon, other Daedric Princes' Realms can only be entered via Daedric Shrine Quest

Peryite's: Yes
Boethia's: No

Do the whole Thieves Guild quest in such a haste, so you're the one looking for the informants, not them looking for you.
Make a second save before doing the quest,
The one is where the informant looking for you (the right one)
The other is for proving/testing my "advice" (you search the informants - the wrong one)

Of course there is a general level when you almost ever get the best version: When you're in a high level (35+, just to be safe)
There is nothing you can't do, at least if you have enough patience to keep trying.
