I'm level 9 now and I have the option to do that. Still completing some side quests first though.

If you do go ahead though, can you ever come back to these side quests, or is it like the OC when a chapter completes and some places aren't available anymore?

Yeah, I was figuring it would be about level 10. (In my case, after doing all quests (I think), AND pushing it one level beyond what I felt was realistic - net 13 (and thats with killing a certain incorporeal entity:mischief :) .)

Be interested to here what others are doing.

I *think* the purpose of "Huntsmen" quests are specifically designed to prompt you to do some "power leveling". The massive spawn rate is I believe also designed to accommodate this leveling, BUT I also think its there to say: "this is a dangerous place", and "focus on the skills that will best accommodating your needs on the overland map".

Fixing the portal (on the other side) makes it time sensitive, so you won't be able to do it for a while. But it isn't like a chapter with no going back - in fact its designed so that you do have to go back.
