PROBLEM WITH PC- that uses vista!

I have a quad core amd pc with a vista 64 os, I have had no problems with it
intell yesterday, it has always run all my games including older ones.
my problem I loaded gothic 2-loaded fine, but it wont start. a message comes
on saying there is a problem and it cant play, I have tried making adjustments
but it doesnt help, I am running it in 2000 compatability mode-I also tried xp,
any ideas?

Despite microsofts [extremely poor] attempt to rectify the issues of gaming on a Vista operating system, it still stands to be the worst OS available.

You may be able to fix this game and get it running, but who knows about the next game? And the one after that. My suggestion would be for you to downgrade to XP (not just use the XP compatibility mode) and stick with the XP operating system for as long as you can.

Or even if you have to keep Vista on that PC, install XP on a different partition. Your system should be plenty capable of dual booting.
