Familiar disappeared

Post by Kryrl »

hey guys, hope you can help me with something.
I'm currently playing a wild mage...have had a break from the game for some months though, and when I started playing again, the familiar was gone...naturally I figured that I just hadn't summoned it, but when trying to summon I get the message "A familiar has already been summoned".
The only thing I can think is that in the past, I left it somewhere for some obscure reason...ie. Irenicus' Dungeon or something...I hadn't really been to any crazy places or anything at that time.
so...anything I can do to 1) get it back 2) get a new familiar?

when you finish certain quests, which give revards in the form of items, you can drop your familiar becouse your character can't carry any more. I would check all the usual suspects. The quest with the Saving grace shield revard in the sewers, Shield of the lost from madulf... There is actally too many quest to list. you'll have to check for yourself. Somewhere on the ground there should be your familiar. The game automaticly throws it out of your inventory when you get quest related revards.
Bondari reloads.

You can always cheat, just teleport yourself back to the dungeon to get the familiar.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

FWIW, I say leave it behind. I found the familiar was just a PITA to manage. I'm playing a sorc and my ferret stopped answering me in the Planar Sphere. I left him there. He's totally safe, so I don't have to worry about protecting him or ensuring he keeps up with the party. I never used his pick pockets abilities, anyway.
