Post by Squee »

Ok so I just found this old game lying around and thought "why not?". However every time i try to install it I get the same error message and the installation is aborted. Can anyone help me?

In this case, unless I'm mistaken, cyclic redundancy check usually means your disk is damaged.

I'd try cleaning it up first, then see if you can get a replacement or borrow one for installation purposes.

Depending on your country it may be legal to download the cd since you own it. Pretty sure I can't say anything more about that, because of forum policy.
Sage plays a paladin,
because other classes would be frowned upon for laying their hands on a wounded companion

Well I tried cleaning the disk and that didn't work. Got no friends that own the game and it's nowhere to be found in stores. As far as I know downloading games is allowed if you own an original copy as long as you don't seed/distribute the game to other people, only for personal use. But that one I'm gonna have to check up on my own. Thx for your help anyways :)

I believe Atari made a downloadable version of it available (for a fee), but reports have been that patches and mods don't agree with it very well. You'll want to stick with a CD version of the game. I got one on ebay real cheap when I lost my first copy in a move.

(Use the lastest 1.3 build - it's still beta, but stable and far better than 1.2)
