Crafting Recipies...?

Post by She-Wolf »

...And where to get them?

I'm a thorough player and I love to shove my nose into every last corner and crevice there is. I also diligently check any and all merhcants, slain enemies etc for whatever goodies they may happen to have on them. However, I'm noticing a distinct lack of crafting recipies available.

So far, I think I gathered most of the alchemy stuff, including Auralia's recipe; what I'm missing are those burn salves (whatever they're called) and the... dragon drought? Though I suppose these will come a bit later...

As far as ammo goes, I have Tenobaal's arrows and war arrows, but those armor-piercing ones still elude me. Any idea where to get that recipe? Bows, on the other hand, I think I have pretty much covered (bar perhaps a few that I'm not interested in making anyway)

But here's the big one - blacksmithing stuff! Diamond whetstone for instance? And all those nifty weapons one can craft. Thus far, I only ran into common recipies (plain shortsword, spear, whatnot), but the finer ones esacpe me. For example, des anyone know where on sweet earth can one find the recipe for an ornate longsword? All right, I might not *want* to make it at al, but I still want to know where can I learn how to craft it.

I am currently in Tallon, getting ready for the dragon fight. Amoebas in the caves dropped quite a hefty amount of pommels and crossguards etc. Now, I heard people wondering where to find crossguards and such for some nice weapon or other they want to make. Far as I know, these amoebas are the first ones that have those items on them which leads me to believe people got some recipies *prior* to going to Tallon (or in Tallon itself). Which then means I missed something. And I hate missing things. ;)

So, bottom line, if anyone can remember where they got the recipies for the more... advanced stuff, please share.

I don't think you're missing anything. You'll get new recipes when you kill the dragon and when you visit the dwarf city. I'm pretty sure pommels and cross guards and those other amoeba drops only come from mobs and you can't buy them anywhere, so hang onto some of them.

Thanks! Got to Murloch just now and got a few nifty recipies already. Now, if only I could find the recipe for that diamond whetstone my happiness would be complete. ;)

I got the diamond whetstone when I pick-pocketed the Duke in Ferdok ! As well as a smith hammer and some gold leaf.... it was totally worth it! Whether or not it is craftable, I couldn't say.

** Slight Spoiler **

The diamond whetstone recipe (and a whole bunch of other high-level weapons) is in a chest in the area "Caves Under Murolosh." (the exact wording escapes me - sorry)

The area can be seen with a dwarfnose skill (it's not visible) or if you just happen to be looking at a wall that seems like it might be more than just a wall...
