are the Khelgar Quests needed?

Post by terribleplayer »

I'm currently wandering blindly around the first section of the game with only the Simmy quest (undoable from what i understand) and the 'make Khelgar a Monk' quests in my journal.
I am assuming i have missed something important that isnt a quest as such but can you confirm that these quests i have mentioned do not need doing to prograss on to the next section so i can continue to wander aimlessly round in circles?

Cheers!

ADD - Still wandering aimlessly but i have been told i need to talk to Bishop to get Ember on the map to end this section of the game - as Bishop ignores me how do i get him to talk to me? its been over a month and i'm still stuck!!!!

Rightclick on Bishop and select "Talk to". That should do it.

My understanding is that the Simmy quest was removed in one of the patches. If you haven't patched your game yet, then you should try that.

You won't be able to do anything with Bishop until Act 2.

Have you done the bandit / city watch quests?

According to the walkthrough you need to talk to Bishop to get to the Gith-thingy Base. I'm guessing that as i started this character before i patched i'm not going to be able to finish with this character anyway.. :(

you're saying you're in act one?
which path did you choose? militia or thieves?

you wont need to go and choose "talk to" bishop, since it is an automatic dialogue. it starts whan you're accused and a long dialogue sequence takes part in the flagon. this is however in act 2.

so where are you exactly? what was the last thing you did right (according to your journal's finished missions)?

just checked an old save, bishop's dialogue is not act 2 yet, but it only gets triggered by itself, in the flagon after the bladelings come pay visit.

Cheers, was taking the guard route BUT did an update after i started so i had lots of bugs, simmy was still around and it was all generally confusing. I started a new character after the update and that is only mildly confusing/annoying.

Spoiler in black

sounds like you got the acts mixed up. ACT 1 ends when you save Shandra the second time from the githyanki base. First you have to go to Aldanon after you've been to old owl well and all that crap. Aldanon will send you to the archives. Then when you get in the inner vault you see to go to Shandra's farm. Then the flagon gets attacked when you bring shandra back.

So time to rescue shandra again. Bishop is put in your party and then ember I believe is an event along the way to the gith base.
