Help needed for the quest Ripples in Chapter IV
The last part of the quest Ripples where I have to kill Dagon is driving me nuts! I know I have to kill is worshippers to kill him and I read in a walkthrough that "this fight is surprisingly easy. Dagon doesn't hit very hard and his followers are a joke". Well, how come I keep dying then? I have tried everything, different combat styles and weapons, I use potions etc. but I still die. Hitting the worshippers effectively is a problem since the game keeps making me target Dagon. So I really need som advice here! Evidently I must be doing something wrong... Oh, and I am playing in easy mode... not all that easy
I think steel sword is more effective against the Vodyanoi. One technique you may want to use is fast style first to cause pain and then switch to strong to cause more damage. Add a powerful rune stone to it before battle if you can to increase damage and attack.
If you use signs much, drink a Tawny Owl to keep up endurance and try using Igni to cause extra damage. Petri's Philter can increase Igni's power - better yet, keep your toxicity down and just visit a place of power or the circle of elements beforehand. Swallow is a must-have potion, and for emergencies you might need White Rafford's Decoction.
It's tough to target the worshippers since they're so much smaller than Dagon. Just remember to focus on one worshipper at a time since they heal each other, and use Geralt's jumping ability to get away from Dagon if he's crowding you. Good luck.

I had no trouble doing this ... I used the steel sword you can buy in the village, together with a swallow potion and the potion that increases sign intensity. Aard works very well against Dagon - I used that to knock him flying and stun his followers at the same time, then just one hit killed one follower with a finishing move, then used Aard again and so on. The potion to increase Endurance regen helps with this method too. Its a slow process but using this combined with the group steel style I had no problem. The hardest part was trying to do combos due to the targetting, but just perservere and whenever you end up targetting Dagon, use Aard to knock him back so you can target his followers more easily.
