Freaky crash bug when levelling up Annah

No it's not distribution of thief skill points, it's something far more dire:

When I click the 'Level Up' button on the character screen for Annah (currently 5th Thief, 4th Fighter, trying to get her to 5th Fighter) the whole game crashes to desktop with this error:

"An Assertion failed in D:\Torment\Source\baldur\CRuleTables.cpp at line number 1327

Has anyone seen this before? Here is a rapidshare link to my save game if you are feeling so kind as to see if this happens with your install too

OK I used PSTHack to change Annah from a Fighter/Thief to a pure Thief and she levelled up JUST FINE

I accept this as a solution but it's super strange

Now I've got the same problem trying to level up Grace from 7 to 8.

EXACT same message, even

Not sure how to work around this one, maybe I'll just ditch her for Ignus and call it a day

I would need about 10x more information than you've provided to even be able to start debugging your problem, I'm afraid.

What OS are you running on?
Are you on the 2CD or 4CD version?
If the 4CD version, did you patch to 1.1?
Are you using any mods?
