What's the best defensive spell for a Mage or Scorcerer against being held?
(levels 11 and 14).
Is there any spell that mimics Chaotic Commands for the above?
Thank you.

I think 'freedom of movement' or whatever it is that has 2 waves as symbol.
You can probably find a ring of this. (not sure, it has been a long time)

I'm on my way to Spellhold. I think you get the freedom of action ring there.
I was hoping there was something earlier.

I can't think of any mage spell that precisely blocks Hold spells, but there are a few more general options. The best choice is probably Minor Globe of Invulnerability, a level 4 mage spell that blocks any spells of levels 1-3.

Other possibilities:
- Blur (improves saving throw)
- Improved Invisibility (improves saving throw)
- some of the shield/armor spells (saving throw, again)
Truth suffers from too much analysis

- ancient Fremen saying

The safest bet for all your spell blocking needs is the level five Spell Immunity.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
