I'm trying to do the stealthy approach and then just sprint out, but I'm Toreador and from the other posts it seems that the only other people that have managed it are Malkavian/Tremere/Nosferatu/Ventrue etc. and generally people with useful principles to help them when you get down to the fourth level.
Have I just got to go gun-ho from here on out, or am I missing something?

First of all, Toreador has two of the best disciplines of all clans: Celerity and Auspex. Second, you CAN do this mission stealthily given that you watch your enemies' movements and use the vents to move around, of course, you need points in the stealth skill.

Here's what I did
In Traffik, you don't even need to use the vents on the 4 levels. What I did was constantly attack and retreat. Some of them will follow you, but you can take them out when they are separated like that. The guys with machine guns are tough especially with low Soak level; but the enemy AI is easy to exploit. If you have celerity, you can use it to slow down bullets if you are in a jam trying to escape.

Actually, it's not that hard... just stay crouched, pay attention to the patrols and move from vent to vent (be sure to use a vent whenever possible). Did it with a Tory a few nights back... made it on the first try. And while I've pretty much memorized the place's layout, it's definitely doable even if you don't.
And should you have trouble finding the next vent entrance: Quicksafe, search for it until you've found it, killing everything that's trying to stop you, then reload and sneak there.

Yes, but if you attack and retreat, you don't gain the experience bonus for doing the mission unnoticed.
