can't ID plants?

This is crazy because I've played through the game twice(fyi going through as the pseuto partner of the evil flaming rose this time). Have gone to witches hut bought the book of local plants yet non appear when I hit the alt key???????? Yes I read the book! thank you in advance. Sorry for the hassel it must have been a computer hickup I went back again to a previous save and now I have plants.

Do you have the Herbalism skill?

There are many threads on this topic, I'd recommend looking for them.

plus they make you buy 25 books .
I write down the ones that I have purchased so as not to waste moey.
Plus as indicated above there are people you can talk to and if you get real lucky you might find a few books ,look everywhere.
It is a fairly crucial step to be able to locate as many differant types of plants as posible.

In-game, if you scroll over a book from a Merchant, it will say if you have read the book or not.
