sneak past guard dog (castle) ?

i'm having trouble sneaking past the guard/dog; the ninja guy is at level 9 sneak, everyone else is higher ? thanks

I don't think you can actually sneak past him. You just have to avoid him by hiding in the rooms that he walks past.
