I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm from the previous poster, but here's what I think:
The game itself is rather short. I finished it in two sittings. I think the only appeal here is the "power factor", or feeling better than everyone else and just getting new abilities. Some missions are frustrating and during the open mode it's the same course of events throughout the entire game which varies only slightly.
I felt that the story could have been presented better though. The rockets are annoying, yes, it feels like harassment and you do spend most of your time escaping strike squads.
You can say that this game is pretty similar to GTA in terms of playstyle and the way the upgrade system is set up, you'll find that in reality, the main point of the game isn't to find out as to what happens next, but rather to get more points for new abilities.
While there are a bunch of different powers that you can use, most boss fights (three of the four, if memory serves), have one or two ways which can be deemed correct in killing the boss, without over-complicating things.
The very last part of the game feels like it was dropped there for the purpose of a makeshift ending (which is another cliffhanger) and seems as if it was a bit rushed. Also, it's littered with a bunch of missions that you'll stop ignoring very early on as they're a lot like GTA's "Rampage", race against time types and a few variations of the standard hack and slash mission.
Unlike in Assassins Creed however, all of those fancy moves, you do yourself, they are combinations, so you don't feel that the game does too much for you.
All in all, it's fun because of the abilities alone. The gameplay however is very linear, a good amount of missions repeat (even the final boss that is technically a "super creep") and it just doesn't leave you with a sense of completeness.

wow!! you were able to finish it in 2 sittings.. Is the game too easy for you?? So Assassin's creed is much better than this game?

Yep, the game does seem to be very similar to GTA.Crenshinibon wrote:You can say that this game is pretty similar to GTA in terms of playstyle and the way the upgrade system is set up, you'll find that in reality, the main point of the game isn't to find out as to what happens next, but rather to get more points for new abilities.
@sexyhotgamer09;
If you were to consider prototype and GTA, my vote would go towards the latter. Not only does it have more playtime, it also allows a sense of freedom that i never had playing prototype.

The game was very short and pretty easy. There's only a select few ways which certain missions can be handled (especially boss fights) and thus you'll probably end up using the powerful abilities instead of the others, making them obsolete.
Now, you should know that I have a low opinion of Assassin's Creed, so I think that Prototype outshines it.
The thing that Prototype has is variety in your powers, so you can execute and kill your enemy in a series of different ways, but of course there should be more to a game than hack and slash. So looking at the story and our dark and brooding amnesiac (which has never been done before), we see that it's lacking in that department as well. But to answer your question as to what I think about the two games together, well, I think that Assassin's Creed has a better story but Prototype has a better and more engaging style of gameplay, including navigation of the city as well as combat. Just keep in mind that all of the side missions are completely pointless as you should have enough EP to get all of your main combat powers even without doing them. Even then, they get tiring after a while and are nothing special, just things to test what you can do with the character, such as flight distance, enemies killed in a period of time and as so forth.
