I was looking for advice on creating an Icewind Dale party based on the Drizzt-based series of novels. I haven't played IWD2 in awhile (mostly BG2), so I'm more familiar with 2e rules than 3e, but it will come back.
I'm not looking for a super-powergamed party, just something that is capable of beating the regular game.
I was thinking of 3 fighter-types - Drizzt, Artemis Entreri, and Wulfgar, along with Cadderly (Cleric), and Robillard (sorceror). I was looking for some specific advice on the fighter builds and what to do for the 6th spot (more cleric, more mage/sorcerer, add regis for fighter1/rogue x, etc).
I'm willing to be a little loose with some of the races (e.g. make wulfgar half-orc to get the starting strength his character has in the books, make entreri some sort of elf, have drizzt be a non-drow elf or even human) as long as the general theme of the characters is there - Wulgar will use a hammer or greataxe, drizzt will use 2 blades of some sort, entreri a sword and a dagger, etc.
Again any advice on a party that will be good enough to beat the game, but I'm not looking for characters with complicated multiclasses to drive that last bit up the power scale. I'm not planning on level squatting or muling either, unless someone recommends it.
thanks in advance,
