Model Citizen Misery - 6.3 Bug?

Hi, my first post here. Anyway, after finishing the "Cover Girl" Quest after p***ing off Imalia and paying Larry, the Prince of Porn, 500 bucks to get a copy of Guy magazine, I finally get the "Model Citizen" Quest.

I´m playing a female Malkavian with Obfuscate 4 and finished "Model Citizen" just as required, placing the cameras in the places they should be placed and activating the whole thing with the appropriate password and making my way out without being detected by Tawni or her boyfriend. I make my way out undetected and head back to Imalia anticipating my reward, and all of a sudden she berates me that I have been spotted and spoiled the whole thing, even though I get a thumbs up from her via Email after activating the cameras using the laptop.

My quest log also showed that I had finished this Quest successfully and should get back to Imalia to collect my reward - after my charakter exited the apartment. :speech:

Using unofficial patch 6.3, and this is the first time I´ve encounterd problems with said Quest. Nevertheless, thanks in advance for your answer, and keep up the good work!

Welcome to the forums.

Model Citizen has always been a problem quest, no matter how patched your current game of VTMB may be.

This quest has probably started more threads than any other quest for your exact problem. In my experience, even before you enter THE BUILDING, crouch into sneak mode and then enter the downstairs lobby. STAY IN SNEAK the entire time while inside the building, even after you activate the cameras. While in Obfuscate, you shouldn't have any problem doing this.

Whats most annoying is the fact that even after you think you've completed this quest successfully, your travel time to get to Imalia's room from Hollywood really always irritated me....and then her ranting and scolding you for failing just made me want to maul her to death. Damn Elysium....

With the unofficial patch you get an immediate quest update whether you were spotted or not, so this isn't necessary anymore. But then I don't understand how the original poster failed, unless he continued an earlier saved game after patching with 6.3...

No, I didn´t continue an earlier save game. I patched VtMB and then started a new game. I´ve tried to successfully finish the quest several times now, always failed to do so.

What is the value of G.Tawni_Spotted inside the flat and what outside or when you talk to Imalia in the warrens?

I'm sure you've addressed this issue in the unofficial patch, what version, I'm not certain. I can't honestly remember the last time I failed the quest, since my "staying in sneak mode the entire time" theory has never let me down regardless of what version I'm playing. Currently, I'm playing the latest version, successfully completed the quest with a Tremere. Good work on those patches btw, it's cool to see the VMTB community, albeit as small one still works hard to improve a game that was released five years ago.

I sort of gave up on that quest, just killed Tawni instead of installing the cameras and thus at least earning 1 XP.

Anyway, it may have been a problem with my installation of the patch and not a patch-related prob. I did a clean install of VTMB and patch 6.3 after uninstalling, and after starting a new game everything seems to be working just fine up to now.

I´ll let you know if my Tremere can finish the quest sucessfully once I´m in Nossie country again.
