Please some advice?

I just downloaded the basic rules from the teamBG site because I just got over the exp cap but when I loaded my game up from a quicksave after unzipping it everyone in the group lvled I am wondering if that was inteneded to happen and I also got 3 profriencies per char to... My char was also lvl 16 then shot up to lvl 22

To my knowledge the BG2 developers altered the experience table from the core ADD rules as well as the proficency slots. The rulepack you installed goes by the core rules and allows for quicker gain of levels. This is to be expected.

I thought I responded to this already. The game tracks exp over the cap. When you remove the cap this exp shows up so if you're well over the cap (which your character probably is if everyone is at the cap) you'll get all that exp and the levels to go with it.

With the exception of the druid I don't think they changed the exp tables.
