Warlock and Multiclassing
Warlock and Multiclassing
What would be a good multiclass for a warlock? Am Thinking Harper Agent or Shadow thief of Amn.
Warlocks rely on charisma for their Eldritch Blast. Paladins and Blackguards get feats at their second class level that add your Cha bonus to universal saves (fortitude, reflex, willpower). Though it's hard to do due to alignment restrictions, you can take 2 levels of lawful good Paladin followed by Warlock levels. If you can deal with a slightly weaker Eldritch Blast due to the class levels you'll lose, you have a nice munchkin build on your hands. Doing the same with a Blackguard is more difficult as this prestige class has strength requirements attached to cleave and powerattack. Not to mention that you'd need skill levels of Hide as well.
Another option along the same lines (but much harder to level until you reach the end of the game) is to take one level of monk, forgo all other attributes and solely increase your wisdom modifier as you increase your warlock levels. Upon reaching class level 17 you'll gain the Word of Changing invocation, allowing you to be transformed into a Horned Devil. With the Monk's AC bonus from your Wisdom and the demon form, you'll receive an AC of 40-something without using spells. You'll also get good general spell saves due to your high wisdom. It's no dragon shapeshift (with similar munchins applied), but it is quite powerful.

any, and i really mean ANY kind of multiclass except hellfire warlock make your warlock pertty much worthless.
even if you exchange just one or 2 levels, it will cripple your character so much that it is wasted.
a warlock will always be wasted unless it is powerplayed. at least, this is how it goes in nwn2.

No images allowed? WTF
At least explain why losing two levels might not be worth it.
I think the main trouble with Warlocks is their dependence on evened-out dexterity and charisma, the latter of which doesn't serve defense in any way. Needing decent levels of these two doesn't leave a lot of room for a little wisdom or constitution either. Casterlevel effectiveness wise they're below sorcerors even without multiclassing. And yes, then 2 less class levels hit hard. Arguably the Hellfire Warlock prestige class puts them closer to being as affective as Sorcerors at similar class levels.
I'd say the monk/horned devil munchkin is the only build that circumvents the whole ordeal, simply by not focussing on being a Warlock. It's a trouble to level though, plus a Monk/Druid Dragon shapeshift with the same trick will still beat you.

You can use a "pick-up" class for skills with the feat Able Learner. But only *1* level for that class. You could also use the Blackguard class for the Charisma bonus to saves (..that would stack with 1st level invocation: "The Dark One's Own Luck").
IF you are building an Epic Warlock (beyond 20 levels) then do NOT choose the Hellfire Warlock.
If you are limited in the module/campaign to 20 levels or less then consider the Hellfire Warlock class.
