I've played these games separately, but never in order. I've always wondered... if you import a BG 1 character, does BG 2 account for the decisions you made the first time around? Is Minsc still in the cage in the beginning even if you had sided with Edwin and offed him and Dynaheir at the gnoll stronghold? If Imoen dies during your journey does she still show up to release you? In other words, does anything except your character sheet transfer over?
If so, I was thinking about playing them in order with one character.

BG 1 to BG 2

No the game doesn't take any account of anything that happens in BG1, no matter what decisions you make, what characters you hav in your party, or who dies in BG1, everything is exactly the same. The only thing that gets transferred is your character's stats, experience points and, if you had them, the Golden Pantaloons.endboss wrote:I've played these games separately, but never in order. Along with the Golden Pantaloons, you will find a few other items that are otherwise unobtainable in Baldur's Gate 2.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
Keep those and the Silver Pantaloons, and you could be right!endboss wrote:But hey, the Golden Pantaloons are what's really important, right?
