Melee skills

Post by Andrinor »

What do melee lvlups really do for your guys? Do they make them hit more often or do more damage or what? My guys are around level 40 and it still seems like their damage is based solely upon their weapon and they swing and miss just as much as they used to in battle.

No one has any idea what leveling up does for your character?
I've looked around on various sites and nothing specifies, that I have found.

Raising your melee skill help raise your strength, wich greatly affect your health. Raising your melee skill do raise your chance to hit, but since you are fighting harder monsters as you level you don't see a difference.

Most mele weapons have a strenght requirement, and the most efficient way to raise strenght is to raise your melee skill, so your melee skill indirectly raise your damage, as it allow you to equip more powerfull weapons.

Melee skill itself raises strength, or is the the combat that is raising your melee skill also raises strength at the same time?

When you fight using a skill, it raise your attributes. The rate depend on the skill you are using:

Melee: Great incrase in strenght, moderate increase in Dexterity, low increase in intelligence.

Missile: Great increase in dext, moderate increase in Strenght, low increase in Int

Magic: Great increase in Intelligence, low increase in Dext, low increase in Strenght.

So the only thing increases in melee skill level really does is increase your chance to hit, which is mostly compensated anyway by the increase in monster levels?

Yes, it increase your change to hit. If you never raise it you will have problem hitting monsters.

Strenght also raise damages you do. Try unequipping your weapon, you will see.
