This Game Rocks!!!!

Post by dchaples »

Diablo was ok.

BG is still great.

This game is exceptional, sure I'd like to see more inline w/charecter skills, a little more dungeon and dragonISH if you will, but damn. THose graphics, screen angles, charecter voices, music, My Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 is finally getting something worth while to play with.

Multiplayer is sweet and easy.

I would recomend this game to anyone who is debating it.

I'd agree with your assessment that the game rocks but needs more skills. However I feel the camera angles need some work.
Moving inside walls, like the droog village or when you enter castle Kheb can be troublesome.
Due to the fact that you can only look down on your characters, even at a low angle, you can't really look ahead if you are all the way zoomed in on your chars (unless the way ahead goes downhill). If the camera would go down all the way behind your char it be perfect (at least then i can see all my char can see).
I just hope that people make ample use of the editor as time progresses :)

I think the camera is easy to control, one of the best ones I've seen in a close corner 3d rpg.

The skills could easily fixed with an expansion pack. Wooooo!

Sweet.

This game sets a precedance. I'm not excited about IceWind Dale II anymore, 3d RPG's are it for me now, that said, I do hope that NeverWinter is almost identical to this game, but w/more skills/and less hack and slash.

This games graphics alone make this game enjoyable. I'm way stoked, Wait till the next one comes out!

A keeper

In spite of its flaws Dungeon Siege has helped raise the far for games of this type. What this game does more than anything is show the potential of future endeavors. It's a great game and fun to play, but, perhaps more importantly, it's a template upon which many other games are likely to be built and one that will be improved over time.

I'm hoping that some day there'll be DS2 cause this game while already great has potential for some improvement.

I'm also hoping Blizzard doesn't sue Gas Powered Games over DS cause it has alot of similarities with Diablo :)

I have to agree with this, I was so disappointed with DarkStone because though the camera thing was great, the game sucked, now I got DS this morning and it's amazing.

DS, although similar to D2 and LOD, is not similar enough to constitute plagiarism or whatever Bliz would throw at them. I don't think it will happen, especially when it would mean tangling with Micro$oft.
