IMO, Dungeon Siege looks more like Diablo than like BG, but it might be because I'm playin'multiplayer.

Single player looks more like BG than multiplayer, with a party that you have to manage and the posibility to stop the action and coordinate each of your party members.
The hell is empty and all the devils are here.

Dungeon Siege isn't really comparable with Baldur's Gate. Whereas BG is strongly into character development and has a large choice of quests and storylines, Dungeon Siege is very linear. Yes, there are side quests, but it's all very limited. Dungeon Siege is based more on action than plot/character development. A fairer comparisson is that too Diablo 2. Dungeon Siege is a more stimulating game than D2, in my opinion. Both are so called "action RPGs", but Dungeon Siege is much more immersive. Dungeon Siege has a larger range of monsters, and these monsters aren't just reskins of previous ones that were on other levels. As well, Dungeon Siege shines over D2 graphics wise, and the continuous world is a big plus. All in all, if you liked D2, I would definitely say to get Dungeon Siege. If you liked the Baldur's Gate series (which is my favorite, by the way), you will still like Dungeon Siege, but don't expect DS to be like BG.
