I tried to play online by myself and I can't get a mule. He won't sell it to me. Do you have to have a multiple players to be able to get a mule?

You can't buy a mule in a multiplayer game without getting one of the mods that allow you to do so. Even if you play by yourself in an online game, it's still "multiplayer" so you can't do it. Check out
PDS for some mods to allow packmules in multiplayer games.

no mule in MP....GPG needs to change that.

That's why there are mods... so things that gamers want that GPG didn't make can be made
