Win2000 Saved games won't read

Post by Win2k Legolas »

I recently re-formatted my hard drive, but I did save "My Documents" folder with the DS saved games in it.
When I try to load Dungeon Siege and start my saved game it won't read my character.
I am playing in multiplayer mode. When I go to start up a game, it will see where I was last but it won't read my character.
Help :(

Did you change anything about your computer? For example, Win98 to Win2k or FAT32 to NTFS? I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it might. What you could try doing is backing up the saved games folder, reinstalling Dungeon Siege, and then pasting the saved games into the folder that it makes when it installs...

Still doesnt work

I've done what you suggested, but it still won't read my saved game. I go into Dungeon siege multiplayer mode and it will read where i'm at (Quillrabe) but it won't read my character. I have two copies of "my Documnets" before I formatted my hdd. I was lvl 42 now, I'm lvl 0 :( Please help me anyone.

I can't help much; just wanted to say that I lost the saves due to a crash (they were corrupted); there goes a lvl 80 character :)

How did you backup your saved games? If you backed them up to a CD it will be a read only file. Right click on the files then left click on properties then make sure there is NOT a checkmark in the read only box. :)
