Question about runes and sockets

Post by CrownHead »

If you were to take a Unique item and carry it through all three levels of difficulty, would you be able to socket it multiple times?

Second, if you happened to be able to socket it, would runewords work on a unique item?

No, unfortunately not. Unique items, like set and rare items, can only have one socket. Magical items (the blue ones) can have two sockets (depending on luck when you socket the thing). Only non magical items can have more sockets. However, any item can only be socketed once with the socket quest in Chapter 5. In v 1.10 though, you can remove sockets with the Horadric cube, and then resocket them.

Runewords only work at normal items. If you put runes in a unique, the runes will only give their normal properies, nothing more.
