I have WinXP on my laptop, and D2 LOD runs just fine. I will look into this as soon as I get home, which will be in a few hours.

Have you updated the game to the latest version yet? My guess would be that it'll fix your problem. If it doesn't, then here's some common solutions:

1) Update drivers for major componets: video, sound, chipset
2) Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX, which is version 9.0b. Once you have it installed, make sure that it's enabled.
3) Run the game in Windows98/95 compatibility mode in XP
4) Use the video tester included in the game. Try running it in 2D mode instead of 3D.

Hope one of these things will help.

D2 works on my pc pretty good, but the performance is given a really huge boost if you switch from Direct3D to DirectDraw. This is especially visible on Battle.net when u are just outside Kurast, this is a known lag place :p

Sorry @CM, I have really not found anything that can help you...I had no problem whatsoever with running D2 LoD on XP (although I had problems with just about any other program). If your problem is not solved by now, try the Tech Forum instead.
