Ok, so I have a lvl 80 lightning trap assa that just maxed all lighting traps and death trap. I only have crap stuff on the assa (+2 to all skills and +2 light sentry). The problem now is that I can't do anything else than Shenk runs (boooring) as all other good runs involve lighting immune monsters so now I need to do something that makes me able to kill light immunes as well... I was thinking of maxing fire sentry (lvl 24 fire trap) or maybe even the lvl 12 fire trap (can't remmeber what it's called), but I think they don't do enough dmg.
So I started thinking of getting a shadow (don't have one yet) and then hire a cold merc or somthing and let the shadow take all the damage. Will it be able to survive hell meph runs? and also will it stay in the front line and take all the dmg?
BTW: is there any chance that an imbued katar get's +skills at lvl80? I'm thinking of doing some imbues and see what happens....

I have no experience of playing Assa in 1.10, but I think you really need a very high lvl Shadow Master and very good equipment for you merc, in order for them to survive, and if boss killing aren't going to take you forever and forever. Have you spent all your skill points, or do you have some left?
Yes, at char lvl 80 you should be able to get +skills with imbue I think.

Aim for lvl 17 Shadow Master with all +skills items, there is a cutoff at 17, so higher lvl is unnecessary. You could even have a couple of +shadow skills claws as weapon switch, and cast your SM with them, to save skill pts. Together with an Act 2 Merc with a big pike and life steal and good damage reduction, you should be able to take on the lightning immunes - especially if you get an item with charges of Amplify damage or something to help them out. You should also use Fade to give your minions high resists.
You could of course also use Wake of Inferno or Wake of Fire - for boss killing I guess WoI is the better one. The trouble is neither of them do much damage, so if you plan to use a fire trap, you should get yourself an item with charges of Lower resist.

I'm playing a Fire Traps Assassin and the Wake of Inferno isn't doing alots of damages. It shoot too slowly, so I just use Wake of Fire (You'll need alot of mana to always re-cast them, but at least they fire quickly)

C Elegans 2. good luck with a blender/fury your gonna need it, i should know made one my self got to lvl65 nightmare runs were easy as pie till then dident live long, try going for a kicker/fury wrks better bt u need the best boots in the game doing kicks u get damage from boots not weapons.
SP101 3. fires good but but slow try getting some lightning in there.
4. over all i find a kickassin alot more fun, if you play on uswest realms i'm Talon[BNR] i still got miner ladder gear left and dont play as much i could give you
to die in battle is a great honor but to have your pockits pick by a kinder is a privelege
Actually now I have quite good gear. My traps are at slvl 30 and all other skillz have a +5 bonus. So right now I'm kicking ass no matter where Unfortunately my old Assa has now dropped the ladder, but I'm inn the process of building a new one

The Blender Fury worked out quite well, the only problem was that she was slow. I took her through Hell without any other problems than slow killing, she was about lvl 70-73 when finished. However, I found I don't really have the patience for the Blender Fury built, so I made a Tiger strike/Dragon Tail Assa instead.

The merc thats great for a trap assassin is the act 2 defencive merc. it has holy freeze.and yes immune monster dont take damage from H.F. but they slow down which is a must for trappers. Fade however does not affect your pets mercs minions whatever you want to call them. It only works on you and yes i've have tried. Another thing to try when making a lightning trapper is fighting with other people.so what there immune to lightning if you have a pali with ya heh they would have to be immune to physical if hes a zealot to be any problems.
