Pixies Crashing DS

Post by tom the terribl »

I added the update here for ease of reading.

UPDATE:
I found a mod at http://www.overtheedge.us downloads category 'download mods' file "Pixiefix" that stops the pixies from casting any blessing. I just finished a DS online game and ran the Redwood Gap without a hit from pixies. I strongly recommend the mod. The mod name was Pixiefix. You should be able to scan the category and find it with no problems.
END UPDATE

I've had a problem after encountering pixies. Sometimes a pixie will fire blessings like it a robo gun. After this happens the game may teminate with an Exception Error. Or the video may freeze; or fails to save a game, or the video may shrink to an island of landscape. OK thats some of the syptoms now I'll give my solution:

You must have Combat Magic ability to cast explosive powder. The preferred spell is Fireball. No other weapon will work except maybe a well placed arrow.

When I see a pixie I as soon a possible manually cast a Fireball underneath the pixie. If the pixie doesn't move you should kill it. If the pixie moves toward run away quickly. And reattack.

If you have low Combat ability using Explosive Powder is a possibility. Aim your shot in the direction of the pixie but aiming about 10-15 screen feet infront of it. The shot should bounce once and if your lucky you'll hit the pixie.

If you can successfully kill the pixies you'll have more confident access to all portions of DS-single and DS-multiplayer.

Actually I have it listed in the updates section of the site but it isn't a GPG mod. It was made by Iryan to fix this little bug. Unfortunately with over 1050 mods they can sometimes be hard to locate but, yes, the search function works quite good so it shouldn't be too hard to locate it.
