By chats you mean the Zonematch chat room? There used to be people there to talk about playing tactics and dislikes but after LOA came out people began playing all Dungeon Siege games throu LOA because you can keep your inventory as you select the game you want to play.
Just start loa click on multiplayer and select host then look at both options and one field will have a pull down menu and you can select the site to use.
