I think it's bull how much damage a mage can do and so fast! Mages definately own. They deal a lot of damage, probably the most by speed. However they also have the most down time. Their spells consume a major amount of mana. This means they have to wait the most amount of time in between fights when soloing then any other class does, to wait for thier mana to regenerate. So if you decide to be a mage you will need a race with a lot of spirit. Spirit determines how fast your hitpoints and mana regenerates. So I suggest being an undead mage. They have the most spirit by far and you'll likely find yourself having less downtime as a mage. However if you are compelled to be on the alliance side, it doesn't matter which race you choose. They all have the same spirit, aside from dwarves who have the least spirit what-so-ever. The alliance just doesn't have many races that have a lot of spirit... However Gnomes do have a lot of INT which will give them a deal of mana, so you might go with them if you want to be alliance. The point of this thread was to warn mage want-to-be'ers that they WILL have a lot of down time, but mages do deal a lot of damage as far as speed goes.
