So which skill/power and gem combination do you like best?
Since I'm only just beginning, I don't have that many yet. But for powers I like Dire Flame and Spirit Thief. =)
Best Skills/Gems? (and more people should post)

You get some pretty insane gems later in the game. Most just give you substantial boosts to your three major stats. As such, I don't really remembe their names.
As for techniques, I actually liked my base technique of "Leaping Tiger" an awful lot. I found it to be a very effective melee discipline at higher levels. It may have been LE only, but it was quite fun. I also liked the various weapon disciplines. I tended to experiment with those. The "Mirabelle" rifle discipline was a lot of fun too, as there were several enemies who would go down very quickly on it.
I didn't care much for the transformation disciplines. They were situationally useful, but also very cumbsersome. I would have thought becoming a Jade Golem or Horse Demon would have felt cooler to me than it did.
If I play it through again, I'd like to experiment more with the magic disciplines. Sadly, I tended to neglect them as I was leveling, in favor or more hands-on types.

If you are evil you most likely would want to work up to the Tempest magik ability but if you are good you want the Stone Elemental ability.
I think the best Martial Arts style is Legendary Strike because you it has a good amount of power and speed put into one.
If you are just starting the game get the Ice Shard ability because you can get Dire Flame later in the game when you are good or evil.
You get more stuff if you are evil like Death's Hand and other cool gems and stuff.
If you are good you get Crimson Tears, a dual sword techinque.
When in the Imperial City and you face that foreginer(sp?) ask for Mirabelle when you beat him. You can kill the final boss in like six hits. his style does not depend on your allignment.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and good with ketchup.
