Best Class?
Best Class?
I was thinking about starting the game with a Troll Rogue...are Rougues any good? What do you think is the best class/race combo?

It's pretty standard.
Dwarven warrior.
Gnome mage
Elven druid... combos like that.
In my opinion, though it's the obly class I've played yet, the paladin is awsome. I hardly every die, when the rest dies I am mostly left standing/running and living. My dwarven paladin is pretty neat.

In a duel, I lost from a 2 levels lower mage. So I don't agree that paladins are overpowered.
They alle have their pro's and con's. A mage can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time but lacks low term power and is vulnerable at close combat.
Don't think in ways of ... vs. ...
It's a party game, you work together.

Overpowered, b/c they can beat many classes. Mage not included though We are best against Pallys and Warriors, that's no secret.
I wonder which class is best against Priests.

i dont play WoW much, so i dont know what i'm talking about, but i've heard that the paladin is very good at low levels. but after level 40-50, they are not as good as many other classes.... but i'm not sure! it's just something i've heard MANY times
I once had a little teaparty, this afternoon at three, twas was very small, three guests in all; I, myself, and me. myself ate up the sandwhiches, while i drank up the tea. twas also i that ate the pie,and passed the cake to me
I am a lvl 60 dwarven paladin, so let me clear up a few things.
1) In my experience, pallys are the best PvE class, especially against undead, in PvP, pallys, die from priests, mages, rogues, and sometimes shamans. We can take a warrior without sweat, and likewise a hunter. I've never dualed a druid or warlock in a fair 1on1 on fight, but I think I should be able to take the druid, but not the warlock.
ofc, in the ends the class doesn't matter, but the skill of the player
2) And the lvl 40+ thing is true to some extent, the paladin goes from being a warrior with heling/buffing/shielding capabilities to a PvE survivor. There seems to be a decrese in dps (Damage per second) so I take ages to kill a mob now, but I can survive an attack from 4 mobs my own lvl (maybe more), a mob 4 levels higher than me, or an elite my own level.
it will take ages though....
There are also many people who complain that the lvl 60 paladin has no real part in a group, he can try to tank, but has difficulties holding aggro (unless ofc it is against undead) he can be a secondary healer if he is holy specced, or he can pull up a 2h weapon and try to be a tank/damage dealer/priest bodyguard.
I don't think any class is severely overpowered, mages do insane damage, but once you get close enough they are minced meat, same with priests and warlocks. druid are more veratile, but once they run out of mana, they are yours. Shamans are nice, but they are a hybrid, with no real role at lvl 60 (my brother respecced his shaman at lvl 60 to get the super mana restoration totem so that mages and priests would want him in a raid) rogues are good, but they get aggro fast (and it is really hard to get it off them as well) Warriors are definetly needed at lvl 60 as tanks but with no selfrestoration powers, die have a nasty habit of dying. Paladins survive for ages, but a pally with no mana, is a dead pally. (also around lvl 40 everybody hate us for the free mount issue)
Oh, brynnie, send a shaman against a priest and watch the carnage
oh, sorry for the long post btw

race really doesn't matter. In the start different races have different stats, but once you get into the game even a little. The difference between a tauren warrior having 186 str and a human warrior having 184 str won't make a difference. Really you should pick the race closest to your role playing style. As for class each class does different things to feed your gaming thirst. Mages cast powerful fire and ice balls. Warlocks summon demons, drain life, and curse enemies. Warriors swing heavy weapons. Rogues use stealth. Shaman are decent fighters that cast a variety of magic. Paladins are jerks. Hunters get to have cool little pets to be allies, and are the best class for a ranged non-magic player. Druids get to turn into multiple creatures for each situation of fighting. Priests are great healers and mind controllers.
Always remember you're unique ... just like everyone else.
No I don't think any class is overpowered in that game, just inexpierianced players. Paladin is a Hybrid class and that makes it easier to start out with learning about the game with him, but in the end all classes are equal in power as far as I'm concerned.
Thing is I just have hard feelings toward the paladin, no matter what game it is. High 'n mighty bastards...

The only reason paladins are seen as "overpowered", is because it takes so long to kill them.
People "complain" they have to kill a paladin 2 or 3 times before he actually dies due to shield/heals. However this would actually point to the underpoweredness instead.
Oh, and then there is the "free mounts" envy which seems to rub so many people the wrong way as well.
Never trust much of the juvinile complaining and ranting/whining there is on WOW forums about various classes. Although there are some (in my view) large imbalances in this game, it is still pretty evenly balanced so far, and much more so then I've seen before in other MMOGs.

Get a pally first, then those pesky hunters can't touch you you just cleanse away everything they shoot at you
Warriors? Pah, I once chased away a +2 warrior that tried to gank me while I was doing an escort mission and fighting two +2 mobs And afterwards a -1 warrior tried to take me on in a fair fight... I didn't even have to heal

People are short sighted. They learn a mount costs 100 gold then hear the words free mount for a certain class and get berserked into a frenzy about it. Just about every class other than the warrior gets a special way of transportation. Druid - Travel form. Shaman - Ghost form. Hunter - Aspect of the pact aura. Sure the mount is faster than the other classes ways of transportation, but they have to wait until level 40 to get them, unlike the other classes having to not wait so long to get their transportation mode. Also the level 60 mounts end up making the level 40 mounts obsolete anyways. So what's the deal?

In my opinion, it only matters what Class and Race you will be interested in improving and playing, not trying to have the statistical adventage over other classes/players. I tried a Paladin and played him to level 10 and decided to delete him because they are so... incredibly... boring... but i am having so much fun with my Gnome Mage who is a Miner and Engineer b/c the battles are always fun, with the dynamite, fire, frost, arcane missles, all that good stuff. I also enjoy playing my Tauren Druid b/c of all the different forms and such.

Lol, and where did you hear that lie!? For my epic mount I am gathering:
350 g
5 holy water
40 runecloth
20 enriched manna bisquits
1 Azerothian Diamond
1 Pristine Black Diamond
10 Arthas' tears
6 Arcanite Bars
The Pristine Black Diamond alone is worth as much as maybe 500g, (luckily I got it from a drop) and the Arcanite Bars is worth 150 - 350g depending on server prices (I am currently farming Rich Thorium veins to get the Arcane Crystals to transmute into Arcanite, I have only ever found two...)
And afterwards there is some very hard questing in Scholomance...
So don't come and tell me our epic mounts are free, get your facts straight before you make assumptions, the 1000g mount is actually easier to get, since you only need money instead of rare components, and hard questing.
