There is something about reputation that still isnt clear to me.
I know that when i gain honored with Orgrimar/Thunderbluff (for horde)etc, i get a 10% discount and when i reach the highest with the (excalted?) i can ride their mounts.
Also with the smaller factions like Argent Dawn, new items become available for sale, and new quests open up.
But is that the case with the 4main factions to?
And what about the others (Gatgazan, Gelkis Centaur etc) Is there a point of getting a better reputation with them?

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
All of Steamwell Cartel (I think it is called) covers the cities:
Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, Everlook (for some reason I can't remember if there is a 4th in that faction group)
The benefits with these should include store prices as well, and I think the Goblins help the one with best reputation in a PvP fight - although I'm not playing PvP realm, so not been in combat near their cities.
As for Gelkis, then it is part of a questline in Descolace, where you need to maintain friendly with Gelkis while killing off Magram (or vice versa depending on what course you take). Other then these quests there are no advantage from it.
There are a number of these "need faction to do quest" factions.
Then there are numouers other factions which allow you to buy from them, you mention Argent Dawn yourself, but other similar exists.

I know, but for the quests with the Gelkis you need friendly.
What if i upped my reputation even more?
Would that "unlock" new things?
Same with for example Ratchet (
) i get better store prices when i get honored but would there be a reason to get it hihger?
And if not, for what factions is there a reason to get a better reputaion?

No.
Ratchet - that was the name, and no.
Well - Argent Dawn has differnet things for differnet reputations, so continue with them. (I belive some enchantment for shoulders requier honored or something). So does the Thorium Brotherhood have different things for sale at different reputations.
However - most factions doesn't give additional benefits after you have reached what is requiered for them.
Currently - I'm working on reputation for the Hydraxi Waterlords (or how you spell it) because I know I'll need honored with them for my priest epic staff quest.
