New to Diablo (kinda..)

ALL QUESTIONS ARE TO DO WITH DIABLO I. THE ONE WITH HELLFIRE EXPANSION.

I will not bore you with why i have started diablo ETC. but i do have many questions and would appreciate if you would try to answer as many as you can.

What is the maximum level?

Is there a "best" weapon for each class, or does it stay dependant on what your doing?

Is there way to miss quests? I recently went looking for someone named "Snotspill" on the fourth floor but i cannot find him anywhere, is it possible to miss quests?

thats all i can think of haha, i usually have alot more.

You do not alwawys get all quests. For example you do not get the sewer quest and king leorics grave in the dungeon. There are many more examples of this but it's been a while since I played D1.

As far as I know there is no "best" weapon in D1, it's all a matter of how lucky you are with the rolls. The max level is lvl 99 IIRC

i think the max level in diablo 1 is 50 unless you hack the character, in which case you can go as high as 99. as far as weapons, the best melee weapon i ever found was a kings sword of haste broad sword, although there was a heavily duped kings sword of haste bastard sword with a slightly higher damage mod. for the wizard, any arch angels staff is nice. i never played the rogue or the monk so i dotn know what weapons are best for them. iirc there were aslo hacks for drops (mega drops- bobafett) that caused every slain monster to drop something.
