Bugs? What bugs?

Post by Eruionmel »

Just out of curiosity, how many people here have had bugged games? I've been through mercenary and over half of veteran without any. And I don't have the patch installed yet. I've heard tons of horrible stories about bugs, but haven't had any problem yet. Are they pretty common, or just the only thing you hear about here?

I played through four times, and I never had a problem.

Four times through all three difficulties? Good God, man! My eyes would have rotted right out of my head by now. xD

Well I just enouctered my first one, during my second fight with Valdis a character fell through the floor half way and can't move. Bah.

But a friend who started playing about the same time had tons of bugs and since he is lousy with the net I searched for solutions for him - there are a lot of bugs there, just a question of luck I guess if you'll encounter them.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

No, one time through all three difficulties, and a repeat through the first difficulty.

I had a couple bugs that were fixed by updated versions. and some other harry pain in the butt ones that had to get fixed by 3rd party patches.

if i didnt enjoy the game so much i qould have quit in the beginning :)

Lol. I'd bet a lot of people would. Some of the bugs sound pretty nasty. I actually just found one. If you leave your party behind and take one character away, pause, warp him back to town, and then go to view your party out in the field without unpausing, your party will be in a blank area where they can't move. At least that's what happened to me. Kinda weird... xD

I was close to finishing the first difficulty with my first character and the inn ate my NPC mules. They're just stuck there and I've pretty much given up playing the game further. It was the same with DSI... I got about 80% through that one and the game ate my character... I started another and the game ate that one too.

It's really too bad since these games definately have potential. I run them on standard Dell machines, so no really bizarre set ups to contend with. This is definately the last Microsoft game I buy.

Currently the tech guys are "researching" my problem... I'm not holding my breath.

QA is not the best I've seen... though it's definatly not the worst.

Ouch. That sucks. I beat the first one with no trouble as well. The whole "inn eating mules" thing bothers me. I'm a packrat, and if my extensive collection of uniques disappeared in a blinding flash of... Mule... I think I would die. xD

I didn't die... I just quit playing. I'm hanging about waiting for 2.3 to come out, but am fairly patient. I'll even start a new character in 2.3 if it doesn't simply release my character's stuff... I don't mind starting over if there is a good chance that I'll finish it. I'm pretty patient though, so I hope they take their time and do it right.
