warfare/storm: what skills to boost?

Post by mutejute »

What skills do you think are better for warfare/storm character? Im on level 14 now and still undecided on how to distribute my remaining skill points. Here's my character stats:

1st tab: Warfare Mastery = 1/32
Weapon Training = 2/6
Battle Rage = 4/12

2nd tab: Storm Mastery = 10/32
Ice Shard = 12/12
Velocity = 1/8

Unused Skill Points = 10

Level 14
Strength = 94 + 73
Intelligence = 90 + 64
Dexterity = 70 + 12

Unused Attribute Points = 2

Ive just beaten the Gorgon Queen (Medusa). I will continue on playing without distributing points until my character gets weaker. Right now I think she's still pretty strong. Thanks in advance.

It gets hard

So everyone knows, the game is pretty easy (on Normal difficulty, I've yet to try the higher ones) until lvl 20 or so. I really think ANY combination is viable to finish the game in Normal.

Still, I do agree that distributing skill points can be frustrating. I finished the game as Conqueror (Warfare+Defence) and found it pretty easy. My suggestion is to carefully study the siklls, since there are tipically only 3 or 4 worth maximizing. On the other hand, there are a lot of skills worth of only 1 point just to unlock other features.

I had to restart my char twice before finding a pleasant combination. Just keep trying, play three chars up to lvl 12 and choose.

I have a couple of builds going, the storm build I haven't continued with after reaching level 8. In playing my other prime character (ranger), I just took off and ended up playing around with a new character that ended up being a Conjuror. I would like to get back to the Storm build, but I'm not sure what to match with it. I never thought of Warfare.

You can have a lot of fun with lightning bolt/chain lightning. Its really superior to Ice Shards in terms of damage, only it has a fairly long recharge time. It's a blast watching a group of enemies fly off screen after you zap them though. The two skills certainly are complementary. Lightning to soften or kill groups and Ice Shards to finish off the enemies that survive the initial attack.

I would suggest putting more points into Velocity if you keep using Ice Shards. The extra piercing percentage is really worth it.

I agree copletely , Storm mastery is one of my faverite masterrys so far. I always emm the wana put it on as a primary or secondary skill. Use Chain Lightning , it does have a longer recharge time , but there are ways around that , my oricle is using the Legendary fingers or(some one) staff , arch mages guantlets and greevs , mindrage robe , and some jewlry that has -% to recharge time. With all my geer combined and can prety much eliminate the recharge factor , it charges almost as fast as i use it. I would also use the wisp , and max its secondary skill out. you dont half to max the wisp its self unles you want to , its gata 99% chance to dodge attacks. But the aura that it likes to cast ALL the time on you , rases your lightning and cold dmg a ton. and also Storm Nymbus. Its not just for staffs. I use it on a bow with my hunter/ storm character. I know it worcks with all weapons providing great exctra elemental dmge. And as far as Crossing storm with another class? if youare still deciding on what to combine i would use spirit , and make an oricle. they get pretty powerful with ternion arkane lore stom mibus and youe wisps aura on , hope that helps some :D

I am now level 40 with a hunter/storm build.

Since your Warfare/Storm i would get the melee skills from the storm nimbus line. They are AWESOME. Storm Nimbus is a must since it gives you light/cold damage to your weapons. Then the first upgrade gives you + to your cold damage and makes any mobs close to you get slowed. Then the next tier up gives you + to your lightining damage and retaliation damage. Then there is one right above that Storm Surge! That skill is the best one in my opinion for melee with storm. It stuns and does a good ammount of damage and it seems to go off ALOT. Plus its an AOE so it hurts everything around you and stuns it.

Thought I would re-post in an old post rather than spam a new one...

I am currently building a Storm/Warfare character (called Thor)and looking to maximise the melee damage output and the hardyness of him.

So by the looks of it Storm Nimbus is the obvious tree to follow but when coupled with Onslaught (since I will be going hammer and shield with this character) should produce quite a nice amount of damage. ;)

Does anyone else have any further tips or thoughts on how I can maximise this type of build?

;)

Battlestandard is great from Warfare. Dodge is good unless you have HIGH DA then it is irrelevant. Weapon training = good (btw get the Lykaeous Malleous :) ) 1 pt in Heart of Frost to slow melee attacks v you down. Thor so static charge maxed. 1 pt in the 15% lightning surge (stormsurge?).

Personally I would see if you can put thunderball on the LMB (skills on LMB when recharging out make you do normal attack). If not put lightning on LMB it is good damage and stun. Get the storm pet with his eye of storm ability (5 pts in base pet for thunderclap).

Warfare battlerage is so so. Onslaught tree rocks. Squall on RMB.

I'll post a speculative titancalc that you certainly want to modify...TitanCalc by stonedonkey - A Titan Quest Calculator - Thane

Thanks for your feedback Claudius. I am building up onslaught slowly now.
With my character builds (esp. 2 mastery ones) I tend to build to both mastery max's of skill point progression first (e.g 32 in each) then start to go for the skill tree afterwards.

I find that during normal difficulty you don't really need any special abilites to progress as much as you do at later levels and hence do all my skill point investment to attain 32 level in each around this time.

:)

My Storm/Warfare guy is going well 25th level DPS 190 odd and now I will start adding to onslaught. :)

Oh by the way what I said about the LMB was wrong. I forgot onslaught had to be on the LMB.
