Problems with reaching act 2

I'm unable to talk to the boatguy that takes me to act two. I've done all the quests and talked to the purple order guy but the sailor won't speak to me.
I've also tried reinstalling the game. Any suggestions on how to fix this is appriciated

Just read about the problems with Innvocation quest. Going to try that now (bbl)

I had the same problem but after deleting several .que files I talked to Kyron (in the secret passage after you kill the telkine) than I was able to speak to the ship captain. Anyway, just follow these suggestions:

In my case, I deleted about 5 of the most recent .que files.

Yep I did that too, had to take like 20 off them but eventually it worked
