Question about skills

Hi, im pretty new to this game and I have a question regarding how to spend skill points. I have a combat mage in my party, I spent some points in Natural Bond which seemed to work fine. But now I am wondering if it would work to spec some points in the meele skill critical strike, would it affect critical hits with spells also?

And similar, to spend some points to get freezing. Would that make his lightning strikes "freeze" the enemy? And would it work for a 2 h to spend points in Alacrity?

Critical Strike only affects melee attacks. Freezing only affects ice spells. Alacrity looks like it should help 2h attacks.

Ok thanks, one last question tho. Does dodge also work for casters and fighters?
