Ranger-Armour

Post by Moxob »

I play TQ with a friend ( warrior ), so i choose to get a "ranged" type.

I putted alot off points in Dexterity ( 191 ) and a few in hp and str ( 81 ).

But i'm not able to find any armour at all, its all with intell 100 + or str 100+ requirements,

Am i wrong ? Should i have putted those points in str ??

Iron Lore seemed to have forgotten one aspect of the game, and that is dexterity characters. *Oops!* I don't know how they could have done this...as it is semi-hard to get good armor equipment for ranger builds seeing how no store sells any dexterity(high)/strength(low)-based armor equipment. At least I've never seen any.

The only reason I'm playing my low level bow-Brigand now is that I've accumalated the Hunter Set (which now resides in my TQVault). There's not much in regards to Dexterity armor in this game (currently with patch 1.20). I would advise to use a melee character and farm with the melee character to find some ranger-build unique equipment. I don't know much about the mage character builds seeing how some spells have a recharge time...but, melee is good for farming for a beginner with no TQVault or just no extra good equipment in TQVault.

Sorry you had to find out the hard way about Dexterity armor. The only monsters I know that drop (High-Dexterity)/(Low-Strength) armor equipment are centaurs and medusas. Problem is that its random on thier drops and you may have out grown the equipment easily. This is why IR should have had these pieces of equipment in every shop. Maybe in the next patch (High-Dexterity)/(Low-Strength) armor will be placed into the shops.

i dont want post new topic with +/- same trouble, so...

i must agree with planet guardian :o
question is - did u find some changes/new eq in IT or new patch with solution???

my brigand is finished - i cant beat Hades on Epic - i died 5x, then i beated red-Hades, but his undead form was my perma death, no way, i died 10x and then i left him
my brigand is based on HIGH attack speed, full marksman's tree and confusion from my poison. it works fine against mobs and most others (piercing/bleeding/poison...)
but its kinda useless against Hades +DACTYL - dactyl is kinda annoying too - 1wave and i am dead, so meeting him in close tunnel -> death and restart

my lvl is 53, highest dmg around 2k (: o ), hp 2900 .... and i am unlucky with getting set's eq for him - i got only hunter's boots (randomly=from common mob around city of souls). btw i dont like epic/legendary bows - low dmg and attack speed - better use some green bow with Embodiment of Artemis' Bowstring - why did they unbalance archers so badly?!?
+i didnt play IT on normal with him (it was old char around start of Legandary difficulty)

some ideas? i dont wanna delete and make my high lvl brigand again, cuz developers forgot DEX eq, only useless str/int crap around... so bad

Another thing you might want to know is that strength will always do a better job of increasing your BOW damage than dex. Because str increases physical damage of which 30% gets converted to piercing and helped by dex. Str helps physical and piercing (indirectly) while dex only helps piercing.

Take only enough dex to hit your legendary bow requirements 400ish? The rest goes in str. You don't need health or energy either hopefully equipment will boost that enough, but if you do put some points in health I won't tell. High dex also lets you wear stonebinder cuffs a rare monster item dropped by gorgons that gives +3 skills, + elemental resist, and maybe a suffix or prefix

Dex does help crits but you don't get crits with a bow which is kind of stupid as I think a 'good shot' in a bow would be more important than a hammer. Also defensive ability doesn't help a ranged character as much cause they kite anyhow.

those cuffs are legendary, right? i got only normal (+1, def like 30...)

and rest - i know it now (or some months), but too late, nvm, back to my dreamkiller...

still about farming - i dont like it and i am unlucky with it - i am getting epic/legendary eq most times from common mob, than from majestic chests etc, like my normal Hades dropped only 1green thing in 6attempts...

thx and let it be, i am on 1.20, so i was more asking for new patches etc

Only Legendary cuffs +3. Course normal cuffs are great for that level. I had to run the 3 sisters and the gorgon cave around 60 times to get cuffs to drop...

And majestic chests around anything special..I usually find stuff when I have given up finding. Of course it should be that way unless your nostradomus!
