Character Also Lost (spoiler?) but not due to TQDefiler. Thank you

hey guys
i updated my game from 1.01 to 1.20
and i had been playing the game fine till my char's level 35
anyway, when i entered the game and clicked play titan quest, i was asked to create a new character (duh! my character's gone)
i copied the titan quest folder in my documents folder to my external HDD before switching the PC off
so i recopied and pasted
and still my character's nowhere to be found

mind u i never used the trainer known as TQDefiler
any ideas?

Do you use TQVault? If you do--->

If I make a change to the equipment in my character's inventory while in TQVault; and never load up my character and save; I usually will have a blank character at start up. I usually fix this just by going back into TQVault move one item to a different square, start TQ up, and the character is visible once more, and then I load that character up, and finally save it, re-assuring that next time the character won't be invisible.

If you don't use any programs outside of TQ at all, I'm at a loss at what to do for you.

Try using TQ Vault Monitor to start Titan Quest, or use my Defiler's 'Patch Game' feature ([url]http://tq.demortex.com)[/url], both do identical things to make the game think you have a legit character. TQ Vault can also be downloaded from my website.
