Trouble with Typhon (SPOILER)
I read the walk through for defeating Typhon. It mentioned something about destroying the Statues of the gods before Typhon can hit them.......I am an earth primary and nature secondary. I have a random staff and i couldnt figure out how to destroy them.

Easiest way to destroy him would be to run in and out of his arena like throne area. He doesn't attack you if you're out, meaning you can run in, get a few blasts, run out and heal safely. Cheap move, but if you're out of options it's rather effective.

It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Ahh, statues? Get your strongest weapon attack available if you can, go to the north part of the arena and get the shrine that gives you the insane rapid fire in any weapon, and then just go nuts on the statues, they can be destroyed in melee.

that is exactly the reason why I don't update to 1.20
In patch 1.15 the statues are destroyable, but typhon doesn't really show the urge to get
the abilities of the statues, unless I hit them 1st, so is an easy deal.
I'll do that when I have finished on legendary, and see if typhon is really THAT hard.
Now, on epic, I can kill him within the 24 seconds that my collossusform and guardians last.
Found a nice weapon, kicks my average damage up to 1200 and the other damage thingie up to 1600.
Greatest damage dealt was 6500 I think, dunno for sure

Believe me when I tell you that 1.20 adds way more than it takes away, Normal Typhon is the only one that's really all that hard, and once you've beaten him and learn his patterns it's not really that hard to beat him again.Ùltima wrote:that is exactly the reason why I don't update to 1.20

True, but I tried out 1.20 and I couldn't get past the very first satyr shaman boss. I hadn't even leveled up yet, all the monsters were beaten, and my attack did half damage compared to his regeneration rate, it was impossible to beat him whatsoever.Believe me when I tell you that 1.20 adds way more than it takes away, Normal Typhon is the only one that's really all that hard, and once you've beaten him and learn his patterns it's not really that hard to beat him again.
It does add some cool stuff, but it's also much more difficult.

This had to have been some sort of bug, did you try again at level 2? I usually don't even try this guy until I have, you know, a class.Siberys wrote:True, but I tried out 1.20 and I couldn't get past the very first satyr shaman boss. Yep, tried again at level 2 and for whatever reason, it was impossible to beat him, as he kept regenerating three times as fast as I damaged.

didn't mean to bring up a semi dated thread but its not too old really.
I thought of a possibility. Maybe the satyr had gear on that raised the health recuperation rate??? Anyhow just a thought. And probably the 1.20 IS harder anyway.
Personally I find the previous version really hard if you don't play a power class to tweak out your lower guys (example perma ancestral champion).

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
dude i have played 1.08 1.15 and now i am playing 1.20 and i had to recreate my character because i had to reinstall before patching and my old char got corrupted, so i started anew in 1.20 and MIRACULOUSLY and MAGICALLY i am now level 26. have you perhaps tried killing EVERY single monster on the sides and around the shaman before trying to kill him, i had to have a couple of health potions but no problems other than that.Siberys wrote:Yep, tried again at level 2 and for whatever reason, it was impossible to beat him, as he kept regenerating three times as fast as I damaged.

I've made many characters, and a few of them started off facing that shaman satyr who had a staff that leached life in which I just skipped it and went on doing other quest and the main quest.Siberys wrote:True, but I tried out 1.20 and I couldn't get past the very first satyr shaman boss.
