??? Monster

I know I need more magic find items, and he only pops up 5% of the time a rare item drops. Is there a way to get the item he drops from a cheat or third party program? It is the last part I need to the Mystery quest. This is the third time I've gone thought the game and not gotten the ??? to drop the stone for the quest. any help would be great thanks

Have you actually killed him? Because that is what you have to do. You have something like 10 seconds to kill him before he disappears again. One of the strategies going around (and i haven't tried this btw) is to get freezing weapons that freeze him so you can keep attacking him until he is dead.

Another aspect of that tactic is, if you unequip your melee characters weapons and attack with fists. That way, you get loads of rares and uniques from him, before he dies.

However, to get the final item you actually need to kill the ??? monster. If you have done that, then i have no idea. Is there something else that needs to be done? I think there is a strategy on this site somewhere...check the walkthrough / set items. Might be there.

yeah haven't killed him yet, my characters never get his health anywhere near killing him in the time he pops up

Mysteroius set

Do you have all the other mysterious set items, if you do then all you need to do is kill the ???. You cant get the stone without the other set items.

You can download a program called Siege Editor 2, this lets you make maps for DS2, if you use it properly you can get the stone, bucket, spellbook and token from a chest. Ive done it before so i know you can get it from there.

After ??? drops the item when you kill him I don't think he will drop it again.

He dropped it somewhere around 17 times when I played through on Veteran.
Every time he died, the item was on the ground.

NO stone

I've killed 6 times and no stone. I have all the rest of the items but they are in my storage vault.

Do I have to carry them around all the time?

They take up too much space.
