My character is level 42 Conqueror (Warfare/Defense) and has a combined armor rating of 1104. I spent nearly 3 hours battering away at the Typhon and hardly even scratched him. I cannot help thinking has the latest patch made the Typhon unbeatable?. If this the case then this stupidity has ruined a brilliant game. I will continue to play and enjoy this game as I have two other characters, both are on Epic level. Any help or useful suggestions welcome.

First off, please don't swear on gamebanshee as per the forum rules. You can get your point through to everyone without cursing, I've already edited this out so please watch what you say in the future.
As for killing typhon on epic, I would suggest you first post your entire build if you can. Skill levels, Item benefits, damage and DPS, attributes, etc.
I've noticed in the game that a certain build can go one of three ways. It can start off incredibly powerful and then gradually become more and more useless, it can start off rather weak but become uber later on, or it can be balanced all the way.
Though hopefully it'll be a simple job to boost you to be more powerful.
