game speed

I have been playing DS2 for a couple of weeks now and I am having trouble with the game speeding up. Some times when I load a game it will move at normal speed, the characters walking, the time countdowns are at normal speed. Then suddenly the game will go faster, the countdowns of spell duration going at 2 or 3 times as fast and the characters moving much quicker. This makes it very hard to do melee as everything moves too fast to do much in the way of tactics. I know the speed hotkey is disabled in the new version but the game speed changes anyway. I have upgraded to 2.2 and it still does it. Do I have a bad disk? I have reinstalled it and it still speeds up.

Here is some additional information that I have discovered. It has to do with the Frames Per Second rate. When it is running right the FPS is 60 or more. When it is running too fast the FPS is down in the 25 range or less. How do you change the FPS rate?

That sounds like you're running low on memory, or your video card is struggling.

How do they compare against the minimum specs?
