I'm playing a healing type nature mage as my main character so I pretty much just keep my party in Rampage mode so they can fight at will and I heal them.
However I notice a lot of weird things can happen during combat. Sometimes my party will stop attacking in the middle of a battle. Sometimes before a fight, enemies will run up and my party won't engage them even when they start attacking them. Or maybe one out of four party members might start fighting while the others just stand there.
Sometimes repositioning my party with "R" or using "F" to flip to mirrior mode then "G" to flip right back to rampage mode will get them to start attacking again, but sometimes that doesn't work either. Sometimes after just standing there for a while they will decide to attack on their own again.
Has anyone else noticed problems like this, and if so is there anything that can be done, or anything I'm doing wrong? I really like this game but this happens so frequently it's frustrating.
Why does my party stop attacking?
answering my own question
I think I found out what was causing this: when one or more of my party uses a summon creature spell it seems to mess up the whole party AI system. I used summon creature spells on my nature mage and combat mage for the longest time and kept noticing that my party would often stop attacking. However, I tried not casting those summon spells and what do you know? I haven't had a single problem with any of my party doing that since I stopped using them.
Weird, but true.
