Black dye - am I imagining things?
Black dye - am I imagining things?
I have a problem that’s been bothering me for a while - at the very beginning of my adventure with TQ I spotted a black dye in one of the shops, and I remember it was so expensive I had no chances to buy it. Weeks have passed, I'm filthy rich but since that one event I have never encountered a black dye in shop again.
So, does it exist but is very rare, or is it just my imagination of a newbie player setting me up with false images?

It probably does exist, but it has no real purpose other than changing the look of your character, which has never mattered in video games IMO.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.

I'm pretty sure you can buy black dye from that shopkeeper you get the quest to find. Maybe that's the only place it's available.

Some of the people already mentioned the master blacksmith(Greece) from where you can buy the black dye but there is one more place you can get it or at least that's where i got it.In chumbi valley(OrientAct3) while doing the quest(forgot its name)there is a general merchant and he also sell the black dye.Hope this helps .

It's not random. It is rare, but that's because it shows up only in a few locations, it doesn't show everywhere.T1m1 wrote:hi. the dye exists it is random like every thig else in this game ))) it isn`t so expensive its 15000 )

My $0.02
I also noticed it early in the game and have not seen it sense. I have not really looked for it since. Glad to see someone else noticed it.
Avatar appearance, IMO, does matter. Many game designers know this an incorporate it into game play. I know people who spend a great deal of time looking for an item for that reason. It's like reiteration...it can be an important part of making a statement whether that statement is aesthetic or content driven, where reiteration counts for incremental validation or to build on a theme. Some people need to hear a message embedded in a strong theme rather than what they might perceive as an idiosyncratic rogue comment Ok, sorry about the overkill
