i find it impossible to believe that NO ONE has redone the runfast mod for DS2. i would expect you guys would have pumped that one out by necessity years ago! what gives!? does any exist??

Actually there are/were such mods i think, however they never were very popular i guess, mostly because running twice as fast also would require that your computer is able to load the map twice as fast.
Thus a FPS-loss is very probable - and as you know if it drops below ~30 FPS the gameplay becomes rather painful...
Actually i have tried to tweak the run speed, in some of my mods upto +20% is currently possible by equipping the char with extraordinary dexterity - however this is a rather static limit because eg. +50% would look too tweaked, it would make battles quite nervous and often more laggy too.
Due to the rather simple technical implementation 'all' run speed mods i every have seen (one or two) they were incompatible with mods affecting char creation/selection in any other way, pets often were not fully supported and also custom char mods (like Succubus) were probably not covered.
This is just because a really flexible and all-surrounding increasment of run speed is not so easy as it may seem, it's also very possible that sometimes the current party AI code or quests/NIS will reset it back to the default values and you had to reload the map again.

thats a shame. but as far as popularity goes....i dont know that i ever ran into to many ppl in DS1 that DIDNT use runfast. it never really hurt my framerate too bad and my computer wasnt ever that great. having your guys running at 4x normal speed when you've accidentally just deleted your character was always appreciated...now im in that situation again, and i cant seem to find a running mod!
